More Than Originality

Studioclassroom recently introduces Josh Groban, which makes me so thrill. And there is a question that goes: Is it important for singers to write their own songs? Why or why not?  Ok, I think it's not a hard question that most people might answer yes. Well, let me go a bit deeper for this question. Perhaps I'll delve into the question.  In my point of view, it is important for singers to write their own songs. Singers who recreate the lyrics or the melody reveal their taste and style in its interpretation. And it's not only the singer's originality but the relationship between composer and composition. The intention and idea that singers compose transfer to their works. In the view of literary theory, it is called "aura," which means the spirit or verve of artwork, leading us to think directly of its artist. Audiences may feel the atmosphere or the emotional passion from the works. And that is also what the composer would like to express. Take Keane(UK band) ...

No More Hesitance

Many times I would turn a blind eye to the weakness of mine, considering it is not my business and nothing to do with me. Yet, it still exists deeply in my mind. This is hard to say when mentioning this, not awkward but pathetic. And it's getting messy while thinking about it. If being asked something I don't really know, I would not say anything at all because there's nothing special to be brought up. After consulting my roomy(ha, it's weird, but I really need her help though), I've made up my mind to confront every problem ahead of me. Instead of avoiding the questions and turning a blind eyes, I try my best to answer the question as far as I know. Getting rid of the embarrassment of mine, I would like to face the reality and situation that stand right in front of me. This is the affection from G-Dragon, who is my recent figure whom I learn from, he is truly a professional entertainment and a nice person that it's rare to be seen. I should go on my way, and Ms...

Psychoanalysis v.s. Postcolonialism

It's annoying that I haven't decided yet to do research about particular literary theory. I have been thinking about the psychoanalysis. It captivates me for a while but lies extreme difficulty in its depth for innate human complexities. Freud, Lacan and June...etc. Their theories in psychoanalysis are very popular in public and in academic. Sometimes I'm afraid of the depth that fars from our way of living, what I'm trying to say is that, too difficult to be understood because of the alienation from the public in a great distance. And I'm also afraid of being far from people whom I get along with since I have been troubled by the alienation and abjection from others for my mentality. Perhaps people can hardly see the differences between others and I. Yet, the inner complexities trap me in dealing with the interaction with people. To understand and then to contemplate the difficulties might do me good. Nevertheless, how far does the possibility of outer reception go...

Shakespear, Shakes Your Mind

Image
Oh, my, it's a new year, and I just stay at home and don't want to go outside. To finish my papers and my Shakespeare film. But, it is always excited for me to film Shakespear's drama. Don't know why, perhaps when I am stressed out, something of pressure needs to be released. So acting helps more or less. Our film might be cheesy, nonrtheless, wish our efforts could pay off and deserve a not bad score which Jean, Ashley and I are expecting the results and immersing ourselves in the condition of taking the bond which surrounds with the atmosphere among Shylock, Bassanio and Antonio. Quite fun, actually. And thanks for some other guys who give us assistance. Angel, Caroline, Sandy, Maggie etc. Besides, there is another scene taking place tomorrow afternoon because we need a public place like a park where owns the titter-totter there, Maggie and Sandy will have to sit the side of each, fighting against with each other, and then Sandy will win out, leaving Maggie alon...

Scene I.- III. in The Merchant of Venice

Image
I find it hard to play the role of Antonio accurately in Shakespeare's The Merchaint of Venice . What I am playing marks having the bond taken by Shylock and Antonio. The treatment to Bassanio and Shylock presents an extreme difference. First of all, I need to show my faith to Bassanio because he is my friend who beyond our usual relationship, so the trust between us pours into the dominance in this part. Nevertheless, I have to treat Sylock badly since he is the Jewish whom I loathe, and I once have spat on him, exposing my discrimination for him. Here, Antonio is a Christian but you can see how Christian behaves in a thoughtless way while having the discourse with Shylock. Antonio's melancholy has been given by the outcome of the trial, which leaves him the foreshadow in this drama. But it doesn't bother here. The key point here falls on the struggle in interacting with Shylock and Bassanio for both extreme t...

Keep My Finger Crossed

Oh, time flies, next year is coming soon, the horrible linear time makes me hard to accept this truth at present. Still, loads of assignments to do. And something surprised me yesterday. David decided to assign five to eight pages term paper! Oh, no. How can I handle this work by far. And he made this decision rather than assign the oral presentation. So the oral presentation has been ignored at present. However I find it easier and sooner to prepare the oral presentation instead of writing. If doing the term paper, the form, topic and thesis statement are all required in MLA academic style. I am just feel a bit anxious about it because the quantities of paper pages are quite more than before. Pretty worrying. Besides, I'm going to graduate from college, can't believe it! Four years, and the graduation will have been waiting for me in no time. And the next stage might be the graduate school if lucky. Hope that I can make it good on my assignments and research papers. Most impor...
